Day trip with a driver: how to plan your day from Lenzburg
Lucerne, Rhine Falls, Bern or the Bernese Oberland: how a private day trip with a driver works, which package fits and what you book yourself.
Three packages: how long the driver stays
- Half day: for one destination nearby. Your driver takes you there, waits on site and drives you back.
- Full day accompanied: your driver accompanies you all day, drives you from stop to stop, waits and brings you back in the evening.
- Chauffeur at your disposal: driver and vehicle stay with you for hours, a whole day or several days. You decide where to go, even on the way.
We agree destination and programme with you. You receive the price in advance as a written quotation.
Which destinations fit which package
The figures below are from Lenzburg station, according to a route planner and without traffic. They show how much of the day is left for the destination.
- Lucerne and Lake Lucerne: about 72 km, around 54 min (Half or full day)
- Interlaken and the Lauterbrunnen Valley: about 141 km, around 105 min (Full day)
- Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein: about 74 km, around 64 min (Half or full day)
- Zurich: old town and Lake Zurich: about 37 km, around 35 min (Half day)
- Bern: old town and Federal Palace: about 90 km, around 67 min (Half or full day)
- Gruyères and the Gruyère region: about 150 km, around 109 min (Long day)
- Appenzell and Säntis: about 125 km, around 99 min (Full day)
For a half day, destinations such as Zurich, Lucerne, the Rhine Falls or Bern work well. For the Bernese Oberland, Appenzell or the Gruyère region, better plan a full day. You find more ideas, sorted by region, among our destinations.
From the trip planner to your request
On the day trips page you put your day together in the trip planner. The planner passes your selection to the request as a draft; you check it and send it. You then receive a quotation.
Groups: V-Class or minibus
Up to 7 passengers travel in the Mercedes V-Class. For groups of 8 or more we use a minibus with 9 or 16 to 17 seats, driven by our team. It is always a private ride for your group only. Child seats are available on request.
Where the day begins
We pick you up at your address, at Lenzburg station, at a hotel in the region or in Zurich, or at Zurich Airport. A stop in Zurich also fits on the way from or to the airport.
What is included and what is not
Included are the private ride with pick-up and return, stops and waiting times as agreed and a programme we put together with you.
Not included are mountain railway, boat and admission tickets, food and drinks, and official city or mountain guides. During planning we tell you where a reservation is worthwhile, for example for the Jungfraujoch in high season. We do not sell package holidays: you book tickets and third-party services yourself directly with the provider.
Weather and changes on the way
If the programme has to change because of weather, road closures or railway outages, we suggest an alternative. If you want to change something yourself on the way, we charge the extra distance and time according to our tariff or the rates in the quotation. The statutory working and rest times of our drivers also apply on long days.
